2008 Natural Resources Science & Technology Funfest
On Sunday, October 19, 2008, ATFCAN and its partners in the Hydrogen on the Hill project once again provided two Ford hydrogen-powered buses for display and use at Natural Resources Canada’s (NRCan) Science & Technology Funfest at 580 Booth Street in Ottawa. One bus was used exclusively to transport passengers to and from the main Funfest site at NRCan to the Central Experimental Farm Observatory on Carling Avenue. From 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, the bus made a total of 15 trips, shuttling 77 passengers. The second bus was used as part of stationary display.
In addition to testing the hydrogen buses under real-world operations, Hydrogen on the Hill has a mandate to promote, to the public, the economic and environmental benefits and feasibility of hydrogen technologies for transportation. NRCan’s Funfest provides an excellent venue for the general public to experience clean, virtually zero-emissions transportation. Along with the buses a display was featured, where ATFCAN representatives answered questions about the project and its innovative, hydrogen-based technologies. March 12-14 GLOBE 2008
From March 12-14, 2008 ATFCAN attended the GLOBE Foundation’s 10th Biennial Trade Fair and Conference at the Vancouver Convention and Exhibition Centre. As part of TEAM’s Clean Energy Solutions pavilion, ATFCAN showcased its CNG India and Hydrogen on the Hill projects to over 10,000 visitors who attended the event. ATFCAN CEO and President Rodney Semotiuk presented at both the GLOBE conference session on A Toolbox for Technology Commercialization and at the TEAM Techtalks. |
