ATFCAN Partners with the Government of Canada and Ford of Canada to Launch Hydrogen on the Hill Page 2

The buses feature approximately 60% Canadian content. The hydrogen engines are supplied by Ford of Canada, the hydrogen fuel storage systems are provided by Dynetek Industries Ltd. of Calgary, Alberta, and the bus chassis are manufactured by Les Entreprises Michel Corbeil of St-Lin-Laurentides, Quebec.

The project will also include a hydrogen refueling station for the buses, which is being funded in part by Natural Resources Canada. The refueling station and the hydrogen fuel will be supplied by Air Liquide Canada.

Hydrogen vehicles have the capability of producing virtually no greenhouse gas emissions, and fewer smog-forming emissions than traditional gasoline engines. Hydrogen on the Hill is representative of ATFCAN’s commitment to promoting the use of clean energy and innovative technologies. Acting as the project coordinator for Hydrogen on the Hill, ATFCAN will manage the project’s communications and outreach programs. A Canadian-based not-for-profit corporation, ATFCAN specializes in commercializing clean energy technologies in new and emerging markets.  By working closely with its project partners ATFCAN helps to leverage resources, lower risks and increase collaboration across borders.

“ATFCAN is proud to be working with the Senate, Ford of Canada, and the Government of Canada to prove that hydrogen works. The Senate, Ford, and the Government of Canada should each be commended for showing the kind of leadership required to make this clean energy solution economically viable for the future,” said Rodney Semotiuk, President and CEO of ATFCAN.
