Minister of Natural Resources Announces Canada's Contribution to NGV Mumbai (Cont)

According to the Minister, “Canada is committed to reducing greenhouse gases at home and around the world.” He added, “these technologies have the potential to reduce emissions on an international scale, as well as create market opportunities for Canadian companies.”
ATF Advanced Technologies & Fuels Canada Inc. has been pursuing these goals since its creation, two years ago. ATFCan is a firm believer in the benefits of clean energy technologies, both here in Canada and elsewhere on the planet.
In the case of NGV Mumbai, ATFCan has put together a consortium of leading Canadian and Indian companies whose main challenge will be to introduce state-of-the art natural gas vehicle technologies in India. The project, which is currently in the final stages of preparation, is valued at $8.3 million.
In practical terms, NGV Mumbai’s aim is to demonstrate up to three hundred commercial fleet vehicles operating on the new system; in service terms, NGV Mumbai will improve upon current fuel delivery systems and showcase a new high-volume fast-fill fuelling station concept.
Ultimately, the community as a whole will benefit from NGV Mumbai with improved urban air quality and reduced dependence on imported oil and lower levels of greenhouse gas emissions.
This project put forward by ATFCan is clearly future oriented. It shows that innovation, environmental improvement and economic sustainability can all come together.
